12 cases of the Covid-19 Arcturus variant have been recorded in Malaysia – Dr Zaliha Mustafa

Kuala Lumpur, April 24 : Twelve occurrences of Covid-19 XBB.1.16 subvariant, also known as the Arcturus variant, have been recorded in Malaysia. All the patients had minimal symptoms and were in stable condition.
According to the Malaysian Health Minister Dr. Out of the total, six instances were found in Sarawak, four in Selangor, and two in Kuala Lumpur. Moreover, the strain, which is an Omicron subvariant, resulted from a combination of the recombination variants BA.2.10.1 and BA.2.75, and as of April 2 it had been discovered in a minimum of 31 nations worldwide, including Malaysia.
Zaliha urged everyone to continue using the TRIIS (test, report, isolate, inform, seek) procedure if they suffer any of the signs.
If someone tests positive for Covid-19, she advises them to promptly isolate themselves for the necessary period.
In furtherance of making sure that health services are in top shape to safeguard Malaysians’ wellbeing, Zaliha stated that her ministry would keep an eye on the situation and Covid-19 variants or sub-variants in Malaysia as well as globally. – Bernama
