22-year-old swept away off Penang Bridge

Kuala Lumpur, June 1: Early Wednesday morning (June1), a guy is believed to have drowned after falling from the Penang Bridge at KM2.2, island bound, according to The Star.
The 22-year-old victim, according to a state Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson, left his own things and automobile on the car.
“A squad of rescuers from the Prai firehouse was summoned to the area after we received a call notifying us of the occurrence at 5.39 a.m. Wednesday,” the spokesperson added in a statement.
Nevertheless, based on the high currents in the region, the spokesperson believes the victim might be swept away.
He stated that the Fire and Rescue Department is now conducting the SAR operation from a command center set up at their maritime jetty at Mak Mandin, Butterworth- The Star
