Voicing for a Better Community

Management & Science University is a non-profit, private university in Malaysia located in Shah Alam, Selangor. The university was found in 2001 as a University College of Technology & Management Malaysia, before officially becoming a full-fledged university in October 2007 as a Management & Science University. This university consists plenty of facilities and they have recently launched MSU Medical Centre near the campus on the 25th of January,2021.

The hospital is named in conjunction with the university itself as MSU Medical Centre (MSUMC). The building was officiated by The President and The Founder of Management & Science University Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Abd. Yajid. The main objective of this brand new centre would be that it will be a new training hospital that is set to serve not only the medical students of its International Medical School (IMS) but also the public. MSU wants to provide a transformative patient experience within an eco-friendly environment that incorporates advances in medical technology, ethics, and social transformation initiatives; and to ensure collaborative, integrated services in managing health care services parallel with technological optimization and innovation. MSU having the vision to develop more hospitals in Malaysia and abroad in the future with the public support. ‘Caring, Healing, Educating’ is the way MSU wants to bring society in a better way.

There was a new theme for this opening day as ‘Engaging the Community’. On the day of inauguration, MSUMC invited orphans and Orang Asli as special guests, from Rumah Kasih Harmoni, Pusat Jagaan Baitul Hidayah, Rumah Siraman Kasih, Madrasah Anak Yatim & Tahfiz Quran Hashimiah, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Rumah Anak Yatim, Asnaf As- Solihin, Home of Hope Al- Khadeem, Pusat Jagaan Baitul Hidayah and the communities from Kampung Orang Asli Rasau Hilir and Kampung Orang Asli Desa Temuan, Bukit Lanjan. All of these special guests received comprehensive healthcare tests, including eye examination, dietary and physiology briefing, first aid demonstration, mammogram, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan. Not only that, ten orphans and 12 Orang Asli received a pair of prescription glasses each from the MSU president. There are also more facilities at MSUMC such as 250 beds, 14 levels, 6 operating theatres, 6 labor rooms, 5 intensive-care units, 4 dental clinics, specialist clinics, and day-care facilities. Lastly, MSUMC will have medical consultants in 24 disciplines including internal medicine, obstetrics, and gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, ophthalmology, psychiatry, urology, endoscopy, otorhinolaryngology rehabilitation as well as traditional and complementary medicine.
