KUALA LUMPUR 30 JUNE : Approximately 250 demonstrators participated in yesterday’s “Rakyat Lawan Anwar” demonstration in the streets. The demonstrators supported Palestinians by dressing in all black, with some donning the keffiyeh, a garment symbolizing a watermelon.
Protesters gathered in front of Seri Perdana, this prime minister’s official residence, demanding Anwar Ibrahim’s resignation. In addition, they sang “Halau (reject) BlackRock,” “Undur, undur Anwar,” “Lawan, lawan Anwar” (Fight Anwar), and “Allahuakbar,” as stated in FMT
Aidil Yunus, the Demi Negara movement coordinator told, “Our aim in gathering is to urge Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to accept and act on our eight demands.
Among them are lowering the price of diesel and not raising the price of RON95 and gas, and also helping those who have been impacted financially since the Covid-19 pandemic.
We also want the Prime Minister to address the current rise in the cost of living and stop stifling freedom of speech in the country,”( source The Star)
