18th September 2024- The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has been presented with the financial statements for both the federal government and the states. This presentation took place at the National Palace and is an essential part of maintaining transparency and accountability in financial management. The report includes detailed accounts of the government’s financial performance and fiscal activities for the current year.
The Auditor General’s report was submitted to the Agong by the Minister of Finance, ensuring that His Majesty is informed about the fiscal health and budgetary status of the country. This move is part of the constitutional requirement to keep the Agong updated on the financial state of the nation.
The financial statements cover a broad spectrum of information, from revenue and expenditure to financial assets and liabilities. The review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of how public funds are being utilized and to highlight any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
The presentation of these financial reports underscores the commitment of the government to uphold financial integrity and address any potential issues in a timely manner. This process not only enhances public trust but also ensures that the government’s financial management adheres to the highest standards of accountability, as stated in Sinar Harian.
