AN APPEALS COURT FINDS THAT SIX EX UPNM STUDENTS KILLED A CADET.

KUALA LUMPUR 24 JULY : Six former students of National Defence University (UPNM) have been found guilty by the Court of Appeal of killing navy cadet Zulfarhan Osman Zulkarnain seven years ago.
The prosecution has proven beyond a reasonable doubt the murder charges against Akmal Zuhairi Azmal, Azamuddin Sofi, Najib Razi, Afif Najmudin Azahat, Shobirin Sabri, and Hakeem Ali, according to Judge Hadhariah Syed Ismail, who presided over a three-member bench as stated in Free Malaysia Today.
Seven years ago, Zulfarhan passed away due to burns he sustained from hot irons all over his body, including his intimate parts. (source Malaymail)The three-judge panel was presided over by Justice Hadhariah Syed Ismail, who described the crime against Zulfarhan “shocking and rare” and said that only the death penalty would be appropriate.
The judge considered the feelings Zulfarhan’s parents could have had upon receiving their son’s damaged body back in yesterday’s judgment as announced in The Star“Only Allah would know how they must have been destroyed when they saw that their son was treated that way,” she said.
“Therefore, we unanimously decide that there will be only one sentence for all six accused persons, where all of them shall be taken to the gallows where they will be hung to death,” she said.
