Aniq Sets National Record to Start Olympics Campaign

Kuala Lumpur 8th August 2024 – Aniq Kasdan, a Malaysian weightlifter, started his Olympic campaign with a bang by breaking the national record in the men’s 55kg category at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Aniq lifted a combined total of 263kg, surpassing his previous record of 260kg. He managed to lift 120kg in the snatch and 143kg in the clean and jerk.
Aniq’s outstanding performance placed him in fourth position overall in his category, missing out on a medal but still making Malaysia proud. His record-breaking achievement set a positive tone for Malaysia’s participation in the Olympics, inspiring his teammates and fans.
The 21-year-old athlete, hailing from Pahang, has been training rigorously and has shown significant improvement in his technique and strength.
