Anwar and Macron Discuss AI Collaboration at G20 Summit

19th November: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met with French President Emmanuel Macron during the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro to strengthen Malaysia-France relations. The leaders emphasized enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, tourism, and defense, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) collaboration.

The bilateral meeting took place at the Museum of Modern Art on November 19, where Anwar highlighted Malaysia’s upcoming role as ASEAN chair in 2025. He expressed appreciation for Macron’s support through ASEAN-France Development Cooperation.

Additionally, the discussions addressed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine, with both leaders calling for an immediate ceasefire and urging cooperation to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. The meeting also included Malaysia’s Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz, underscoring the importance of international collaboration in addressing pressing global issues, as stated in The Star.
