Anwar Ibrahim Issues Warning: Civil Servants Must Report Wrongdoing or Face Consequences

Kuala Lumpur, 16th August 2024 – Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has issued a stern warning to civil servants who witness wrongdoing but fail to report it. Speaking at an event in Putrajaya, he emphasized that inaction will not be tolerated. Anwar highlighted that those who see corruption or abuse of power but choose to remain silent are enabling misconduct. He urged all civil servants to uphold integrity and report any suspicious activities.

Anwar also reminded civil servants of their duty to serve the people and the country, not individuals or political parties. He stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in government services. The Prime Minister assured that measures would be taken to protect whistleblowers from retaliation. Anwar’s message was clear: those who ignore abuse or corruption within the civil service will face serious consequences as stated in Malaymail.
