Anwar Meets Kamal Haasan to Discuss Film Industry

Kuala Lumpur, 29th June 2024 : Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently met with renowned Indian actor Kamal Haasan, who was in Malaysia promoting his film “Indian 2.”
The two discussed various aspects of the film industry and their shared commitment to fighting corruption. Kamal Haasan, at 70, emphasized the importance of fan support in his career, sharing that their enthusiasm motivates him to continue acting despite his political commitments.
Kamal, who founded the Makkal Needhi Maiam party in 2018, revealed he considered leaving the film industry for politics but decided to balance both due to fans’ expectations. “Indian 2” is a sequel to his 1996 hit film “Indian,” which tackled themes of anti-corruption.
