Anwar Urges Family to Develop KPIs for Harimau Malaya

19th September 2024 –Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has called for a strategic plan and key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance the performance of Malaysia’s national football team, Harimau Malaya. During a recent meeting with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), Anwar emphasized the importance of setting measurable goals to elevate the team’s standards and performance levels.

Anwar highlighted that the success of the national team is critical not only for football but also for fostering national pride. He encouraged FAM to collaborate closely with stakeholders, including players, coaches, and fans, to create a comprehensive framework that identifies clear objectives and pathways to improvement.

The Prime Minister also pointed out the necessity of investing in youth development programs to nurture future talent and ensure a sustainable pipeline of skilled players. By doing so, he believes Malaysia can compete more effectively on the international stage

Furthermore, Anwar expressed his commitment to supporting the football community and indicated that government backing would be pivotal in achieving these objectives. He reiterated that consistent progress and accountability are essential for the team to thrive, urging FAM to maintain transparency in its operations and performance assessments.
