Anwar Urges Private Sector to Follow Khazanah’s Minimum Wage Initiative

4th September 2024 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim praised Khazanah Nasional Bhd for implementing a RM3,000 minimum wage for its employees. Speaking at Khazanah’s 30th anniversary, Anwar encouraged other private companies to adopt similar measures, balancing profit with workers’ welfare. He emphasized the need for corporations to honor human dignity and fairness, moving beyond corporate social responsibility.
Anwar also highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to revise civil servant salaries, ensuring no public worker earns below RM2,000 monthly. Additionally, he mentioned plans to preserve Kuala Lumpur’s cultural heritage while modernizing the city, as stated in Bernama.
