Apple to Launch a More Affordable Vision Pro in 2025

Apple is reportedly working on a more affordable version of its Vision Pro headset, expected to hit the market as early as next year. According to Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, the tech giant aims to lower the price by using less expensive materials and incorporating a slower processor compared to the current premium model. One of the key features likely to be left out in this cost-cutting effort is EyeSight, a unique function on the original Vision Pro that displays the user’s eyes on the external side of the headset, enhancing interaction with those nearby.
The Vision Pro, which made its debut earlier this year at a premium price of $3,499, has been positioned as a high-end mixed reality device designed for a niche market. By offering a lower-cost alternative, Apple appears to be aiming at a broader audience, potentially making the innovative technology more accessible to everyday consumers. The company’s strategy to scale down some features while maintaining the overall experience could be a significant step in growing its user base and gaining traction in the competitive AR/VR space.
This move signals Apple’s ongoing commitment to expanding its footprint in the augmented and virtual reality market, where accessibility and affordability could play a crucial role in shaping future demand. With a cheaper model in the works, Apple could accelerate adoption rates for its Vision Pro lineup, tapping into new customer segments and increasing its presence in the growing world of wearable tech.
