As Apple gears up to reveal the iPhone 16 series at its ‘Glowtime’ event on September 9, anticipation is high for the next-generation Apple Watch. Traditionally, Apple introduces new smartwatches alongside their latest iPhones, but this year’s event is particularly noteworthy as it marks the 10th anniversary of the debut of Apple’s first smartwatch.
Though the official name for the new smartwatch remains uncertain—whether it will be called Watch X or something else—leaks and rumours suggest that the upcoming model will include enhanced health features and incremental upgrades compared to its predecessor. From design changes to new health tracking capabilities, here’s what we know so far about the eagerly awaited Apple Watch X.
Based on leaks and rumors from various sources, YouTube creator Concept Central has produced renders of what the next Apple Watch might look like.
Recently, Apple has been steadily expanding the screen size of the Apple Watch. Although nothing is confirmed yet, well-known Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo indicates that the upcoming model could come in 45mm and 49mm sizes, significantly larger than the current generation’s 41mm and 45mm options.
Apple has been steadily enhancing its health tracking features, adding functionalities like blood-oxygen monitoring and temperature sensing. With the upcoming Apple Watch X, we might see even more advancements, such as blood pressure monitoring, a blood pressure journal, and sleep apnea detection. Although there are rumors about the possibility of blood glucose monitoring, it’s improbable that this feature will be part of the Apple Watch X.
A recent X post by well-known Apple tipster Majin Bu suggests that Apple may revamp the design of its next smartwatch. Besides featuring a slimmer bezel, the Apple Watch X might include a speaker grill similar to the Apple Watch Ultra, with holes arranged differently compared to the current straight-line design.
There are rumors that Apple will replace the stainless steel with a titanium finish for the upcoming Apple Watch Series X. However, details about the Apple Watch Ultra 3 remain unclear.
