Legendary composer AR Rahman has been honoured at the 2024 Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) for his evocative background score in Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life), starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. The award, won in the Independent Film (Foreign Language) category, highlights Rahman’s exceptional contribution to the film, directed by Blessy.

Blessy, who accepted the award on Rahman’s behalf at the Los Angeles ceremony, shared the news on Instagram, along with a video message from the composer. In his address, Rahman expressed gratitude, saying, “It’s an incredible honour to receive this award. This project was a labour of love, shared with my amazing team, director Blessy, and everyone who believed in our vision.” He also thanked his global fans for their unwavering support, concluding with, “Ella pugazhum iraivanukke” (All praise to God).

The survival drama, based on Benyamin’s acclaimed novel, follows the harrowing journey of Najeeb, a Malayali expatriate trapped in Saudi Arabia. Alongside Prithviraj, the cast includes Amala Paul, KR Gokul, and Jimmy Jean-Louis.

Rahman’s score, which features the song Periyone as a symbol of hope and resilience, has received widespread acclaim. The HMMA, known for predicting potential Oscar winners, further cements Rahman’s global legacy.

Aadujeevitham marks another milestone in Rahman’s illustrious career, blending musical mastery with cinematic storytelling.
