ASEAN summit puts COVID-19 pandemic high on agenda
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17: The primary subject of the ASEAN Summit, which will be conducted virtually from October 26 to 28, is likely to be the issue of COVID-19.
The agendas, according to Foreign Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, included, among other things, the mobility of tourists and certification, as well as immunisation certificates.
“I’m not sure if it will be considered on the first or second day, but COVID-19 will be the primary agenda item at the ASEAN Summit led by Brunei.
“This is because, before the ASEAN Summit, the Ministers of Health, Tourism, and Economy met and each submitted a report to the ASEAN Secretary-General.”
“As a result, I anticipate that this conference will focus on COVID-19, which focuses on tourism mobility and certification, as well as vaccine certification,” he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.
