Brad Pitt recently shared his excitement about his upcoming film, F1, during a press conference in Mexico City. He revealed that he’s been eager to star in a racing film for decades, but the opportunity never materialized until now. Pitt expressed that the experience of being immersed in the actual Formula One season, as envisioned by director Joseph Kosinski, was a dream come true. He described the process as unlike anything he’s experienced in his extensive career.
In F1, Pitt portrays Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One driver who returns to the sport to revive a struggling team. He is joined by rookie teammate Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris. Idris praised Pitt’s mentorship, noting their seamless dynamic both on and off set. The film also stars Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, and Tobias Menzies.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, F1 was filmed in collaboration with the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and features real F1 environments. The film is set to be released in theaters on June 27, 2025.
