Cameron Highlands Council Demolishes Santorini-Inspired Attraction

Kuala Lumpur 6th August 2024 – The Cameron Highlands District Council (CHDC) demolished a Santorini-themed tourist spot called Cameron Santorini. The council explained that the attraction was built without proper approvals under Section 70(1) of the Roads, Drains and Buildings Act 1974.

This law mandates that any construction must get approval to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations. The CHDC emphasized that the enforcement action was necessary to uphold legal standards and prevent unauthorized developments.

This move is part of their ongoing efforts to manage and regulate construction within the district. The council shared the news on their Facebook page, highlighting the importance of adhering to legal requirements for any development project in the area.
