KUALA LUMPUR, 1st May : Labour Day, observed annually on May 1st, is a day dedicated to appreciating the contributions and accomplishments of workers all around the world. This day honours the hard work, dedication, and determination of those who contribute to the growth and prosperity of society.

Labour Day, which originated in the labour union movement, is dedicated to improving working conditions and treating workers fairly. It serves as a reminder of labourers’ previous battles, as well as the progress made to enhance their rights and working conditions. On Labour Day, numerous events and activities are held to celebrate and recognise the achievements of employees.

Parades, picnics, and other celebrations are held to acknowledge the efforts of employees from all walks of life. It is also a time to reflect on the significance of labour rights and the need to continue campaigning for fair salaries, safe working conditions, and equal opportunity for all employees. Labour Day is particularly significant in countries where workers’ rights are currently being fought for.

It is a day of solidarity and togetherness among workers, emphasising the significance of working together to achieve common objectives. As we celebrate Labour Day, let us take a moment to salute the efforts to employees around the world. Their passion and hard work drive our society’s progress and prosperity.

Let us continue to fight towards a future in which every employee is treated with dignity and respect, and their efforts are really valued.
