CELINA JAITLY RECALLS MAN FLASHING PRIVATE PARTS WHEN SHE WAS A KID

By Nityaasini Sivagami

KOLKATA, INDIA 18TH AUGUST : It is clearly proven that ‘Do not be ashamed of your story, it will inspire others’. Celina posted a photo of herself from her sixth-grade class on Instagram on Saturday, along with a description of how a man “flashed” her at that age.

Her post was made a few days after a doctor in a Kolkata hospital was raped and killed.”The victim is always at fault: In this picture, I was in sixth grade only when boys from a nearby university started to wait outside my school,” Celina wrote as the caption for her photo.

Every day, they would make catcalls all the way home in the school rickshaw. They started throwing stones at me in the middle of the road to grab my attention after I feigned not to notice them a few days earlier. Not a single onlooker raised an eyebrow”.”It was because I was ‘too westernised and did not wear loose clothes and did not tie my hair in two braids with oil it was my fault,” the teacher told her, continuing.

Around this age, a man also gave me my first glimpse of his privates when we were waiting for the school rickshaw to arrive in the morning. I held the teacher’s statements to myself for many years, believing that I was to responsible for the incident. I kept telling myself that it was my fault”.”I can still clearly recall that day when my brake wires broke and I had to jump off my scooter to save myself. Even if I caused the pain, it was my fault.

My Scooty was ruined; I suffered emotional and physical harm. It was claimed to be my fault! My retired colonel grandfather, who served in two wars for our nation, had to start accompanying me to and from school. She continued, “I still remember those boys who chased me and even broke my scooter.

They also made fun of my retired colonel grandfather”. I will never understand why it is more shameful to be raped than to be a rapist. But no matter how much evil I see, I think it’s important for everyone to understand that there is much more light than darkness.

The ones who have a voice must speak for those who are voiceless. Victims can be assured that their words and deeds will have an effect on other people.

We inspire others to take similar action and speak up more when we do so. We should urge victims to come forward with their tales and report crimes to the authorities because you never know how many lives you may save.
It’s time to stand up and ask for our right to be protected WE ARE NOT AT FAULT !
