Challenges in Search for Missing Person in Jalan Masjid India Sinkhole

30th August 2024 – The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) continues to face obstacles in locating an Indian national who fell into a sinkhole on Jalan Masjid India.
On August 30, 2024, JBPM’s scuba divers attempted to explore a nearby sewer channel, but progress was hindered by rocks and strong currents.
Despite efforts to lower water levels to aid their search, the team could not reach the suspected area where the victim might be.
The operation, led by JBPM director-general Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad, has been temporarily halted but is set to resume, stated as in Bernama.
