Couple Charged with Trafficking 6kg of Drugs

12 SEPTEMBER: A married couple was charged in the Magistrate’s Court today for trafficking six kilograms of drugs at a house on Jalan Kubang Ikan, Kuala Terengganu.
Mohd Tarmizi Ramle, 34, and Maline Mohd Fauzi, 37, face two charges related to the case.
According to the first charge, the couple is accused of trafficking 5,708.18 grams of methamphetamine at a residence in Taman Permin Jaya Fasa 4, Chendering, on September 1, around 1:00 PM.
For the second charge, they are accused of trafficking 631.91 grams of nimetazepam at the same time and place.
The charges fall under Section 39B (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction under Section 39B (2) of the same Act.
When the charges were read, the couple nodded to indicate their understanding, though no plea was recorded.
Bail was not granted to either of the accused.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Amalina Najwa Ali prosecuted the case, while Mohd Zubairi Salleh represented the couple.
The court has set November 13 for the next hearing to allow time for the chemistry report as stated in Buletin TV3.
