Datin Paduka Esther Ng Receives Media Luminary Award at NPC Diamond Jubilee

29 SEPTEMBER: Star Media Group’s chief content officer, Datin Paduka Esther Ng, was honoured with the prestigious Media Luminary Award by the National Press Club (NPC) for her remarkable contributions to journalism.

She was one of 17 distinguished recipients at the NPC’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre on September 26.Expressing her gratitude, Ng emphasized the importance of teamwork in her success, thanking Star Media Group for the opportunity to lead and acknowledging the guidance of her seniors.

“I didn’t get here by myself, I did it with my team… I also thank my seniors for letting me stand on their shoulders,” she said. Several other accomplished female journalists were recognized at the event, including Bernama’s CEO Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, media consultant Datuk Nuraina Samad, and Media Prima Television Networks CEO Nini Yusof.The event, which saw the attendance of 170 media practitioners and industry leaders, also honored 11 veteran journalists for their lifelong dedication to journalism.

NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan lauded the recipients as pioneers who have shaped the nation’s media landscape, saying, “We stand on your shoulders… as it is the only way we can see clearly into the challenging future ahead” as stated in The Star
