Petaling Jaya, June 10: Iconic Humanitarian Figure, Datin Paduka A. Mangalam, Malaysia’s Equivalent to “Mother Teresa,” passes away at 97.
The revered Datin Paduka A. Mangalam, widely recognized as Mother Mangalam, has left this world. As the esteemed life president of the Pure Life Society, founded back in 1949, she became a renowned name in the realm of humanitarian endeavors. The exact cause of her passing remains unconfirmed at this time.
Datin Paduka A. Mangalam, fondly known as Mother Mangalam, was not only a beacon of compassion but also a recipient of the prestigious Merdeka Award in 2010, specifically for her exceptional contributions to education and community welfare. Her dedication extended beyond her philanthropic efforts as she also served as the vice-president of the Malaysia Inter-Religious Organization and played an integral role as a member of the National Advisory Council on the Integration of Women in Development.
