E-Hailing Driver Dies in Genting Highlands Crash, Passenger Unharmed

26th August 2024 – In a tragic accident at Genting Highlands, an e-hailing driver lost his life when the car he was driving skidded and crashed. The driver, a 40-year-old man, was operating his vehicle on the winding roads of Genting Highlands when the incident occurred. Despite the severity of the crash, the passenger in the vehicle, a 30-year-old man, miraculously escaped unharmed.

The accident took place at 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday, with the car reportedly losing control and veering off the road. The impact was so severe that the driver was pinned inside the vehicle. Emergency responders from the fire department arrived swiftly at the scene and worked diligently to extract the driver from the wreckage. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident, with initial reports suggesting that the car may have skidded due to the wet road conditions. The driver’s body was transported to a nearby hospital for further examination, while the passenger was given medical attention at the scene before being released.

This incident highlights the dangers of driving on the challenging roads of Genting Highlands, particularly during adverse weather conditions. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and drive at safe speeds to prevent such tragedies. The police have urged any witnesses to come forward with information that could aid in their investigation, as stated in New Straits Times.
