Elderly Woman Perishes in House Fire in Kudat

7 OCTOBER: A tragic fire claimed the life of a 76-year-old woman, Lo Hiong Lan, when her home in Kampung Pituru, Kudat, burned down late last night. The fire, which broke out around 8 PM, completely engulfed the two-story house. Local villagers managed to extinguish some of the flames before firefighters arrived.
Kudat Fire and Rescue Chief Ishak Jabas stated that the emergency call was received at 10:10 PM, with firefighters reaching the scene 45 kilometers from their station. Unfortunately, Lo’s charred body was found in the living room. The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, and the operation concluded at 2:25 AM as stated in BULTETIN TV3.
