KUALA LUMPUR, April 21: A few altered photographs of Lord Murugan from Sri Subramaniam Temple, Batu Cave, became viral on social media in early April.
Mr. Rames Harikrishnasamy, a Malaysian who is 42 years old, altered the photos.
Rames is a self-taught digital artist who gets inspiration from his daily existence to create stunning pictures from unappealing imagery. His artwork has been shared tens of thousands of times on social media platforms, reproduced on canvas, and even tattooed.
He comes from a middle-class family and was born in Kuala Lumpur. He studied Business at Binary University of Management and Entrepreneurship and finished with honours. Even though he studied business, he has a strong interest in the arts, he told to The Hindu Press.
He utilised yahoo to look for a photo editing application and discovered Photoshop, which he began to study and edit on his own. He created his own portfolio using a free website and applied for designer positions, which he was hired for, he added. “I worked at Astro for seven years and then for a couple web-posting firms,”. “At the time, I didn’t have any digital arts role models, so I began to illustrate Hindu lords as infants.” “I was influenced by Ravi Varma’s artwork,” he remarked.
In 2017, Rames was named an Adobe Influencer in the United States and he was invited to a couple Adobe events. After that, he began to receive several offers from HP etc.
