EVERY SINGLE DAY, HUNDREDS OF TIKTOK VIDEOS REGARDING BULLYING ARE TAKEN DOWN IN MALAYSIA

KUALA LUMPUR 15th AUGUST: In Malaysia, the removal of TikTok videos that contain abuse and harassment occurs on average every day for around 850 videos as stated in The Star

According to data from the social networking site TikTok deleted over 78,000 videos in Malaysia that contained this kind of content in the first three months of this year. But according to mental health professionals, these figures are probably only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to illustrating the extent of cyberbullying as stated in the Star

With cyberbullying, a single touch on an electronic device can ruin someone’s reputation and shake their entire perception of life.

They recommend that platforms do more to safeguard users, such as stepping up measures to stop cyberbullies, improving user authentication to stop bullies from making new accounts, and breaking up newsfeed content, as stated in The Star.

Show respect even to those who may not seem to deserve it; it’s a reflection of your character, not theirs. However, it’s also crucial to do more to educate people on maintaining their mental health while using the internet.

However, more has to be done to inform people about maintaining their mental health when using the internet. Be an encourager. The world has plenty of critics already. Not everyone deserves to know the real you. Let them criticize who they think you are.

When someone speaks up and says, “Hold on, this is wrong!” it encourages others to do the same. World peace is attainable when the power of love overtakes the love of power in every individual.
