Final-year student found dead in room

A final-year Master’s student was found dead last night in a room at a residential college close to Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang.
The body of the male student was discovered about 7:45 p.m, according to Serdang District Police Chief A.A. Anbalagan, who received a call reporting the incident.
According to Anbalagan, the initial investigation revealed that the victim’s friend had visited the student’s room around 4.30pm since he had not seen him in a while when foul smell emanating from the victim’s room first caught his attention.
The friend then alerted his fellow students before using a spare key to enter the door.
Anbalagan said that the 29-year-old victim was discovered laying on the floor near the bedside in long pants and a shirtless state in a foul-smelling room.
In addition, the investigation revealed that valuables including laptops and phones were still remained in the area.
He said that the site had no signs of criminal activity that the forensic and investigative teams could identify.
According to Anbalagan, the death was abrupt, and the body will be sent to Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem.
