Fuel Price Drop for RON97 and Diesel on September 12
By Loshinniy Nair S. Baskaran
12th September 2024 – Starting today, fuel prices in Malaysia will see a notable reduction, offering some relief to motorists.
The prices for RON97 petrol and diesel have dropped by 15 sen, with RON97 now priced at RM3.25 per litre and diesel at RM3.01 per litre. This price adjustment is attributed to falling global crude oil prices and the recent strengthening of the Malaysian ringgit, providing some economic relief.
The reduced fuel prices are valid from September 12 until September 18, 2024. However, the prices for RON95 petrol and diesel in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan remain unchanged. This reduction highlights the Malaysian government’s efforts to reflect global market trends in domestic fuel pricing, allowing consumers to benefit from lower global oil prices.
This price revision is likely to positively impact transportation costs and other fuel-dependent industries. Malaysian consumers, particularly those using vehicles that rely on RON97 or diesel, will likely welcome this news as it helps to mitigate the effects of other rising costs, as stated in Malaymail.
