GISBH Welfare Home Abuse Scandal

23rd September 2024: The GISBH scandal emerged after Malaysian authorities raided welfare homes operated by Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings on September 11, 2024. More than 170 individuals, including caretakers and religious leaders, were arrested for allegations of sexual and physical abuse of children.
Victims were subjected to sodomy and severe punishment. Investigators also discovered connections to the banned Al-Arqam movement. In response, authorities began shutting down GISBH businesses as they continue investigating human trafficking and exploitation within these homes, as stated in Malaymail.
