Goh-Shevon and Chen-Toh barge into Seoul quarters.

KUALA LUMPUR 30 AUGUST:After dominating the Korean Open quarterfinals in Seoul yesterday, Malaysia’s best mixed doubles pairings, Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie, have improved their prospects of making it to the World Tour Finals.
In the second round, Taiwan’s Liu Kuang-heng and Jheng Yu-chieh were upset 21-16, 21-19 by world No. 9 Tang Jie-Ee Wei.Soon Huat-Shevon, an independent duo rated 13th in the world, defeated Chen Zhi-ray-Yang Ching-tun, both of Taiwan, 21-13, 21-17, to secure a spot in the final eight.
Soon Huat-Shevon performed admirably in the Badminton World Federation circuit this year, winning the Malaysian Masters in May and the Swiss Open in March despite missing the Olympics in Paris.

It’s interesting to note that Tang Jie-Ee Wei fell to Soon Huat-Shevon in both the Malaysian Masters semifinal and final, and that they will face off once more in the quarterfinals.
They had a strong debut at the Paris Olympics, making it to the quarterfinals, and Tang Jie is now looking forward to facing Soon Huat-Shevon three times this year.
“We are eager to play Soon Huat-Shevon, but we are more concerned with our own performance than we are with our previous results,” Tang Jie stated(The Star Sports).
