2nd September 2024 – Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is urged to remain open to collaborations with political parties that have strong support from the public, according to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs, and Special Duties) Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali. He emphasizes that GRS needs to work with parties that have the people’s trust to ensure political stability in Sabah.
Armizan highlights that GRS, as a political coalition, must prioritize the interests of the state and its people. By collaborating with parties that hold significant influence and popularity, GRS can form a more stable and effective government. This approach is particularly vital given the current political landscape, where no single party holds a dominant position.
The minister also notes that political cooperation should not be based solely on party interests but rather on the broader objective of benefiting the people of Sabah. He calls on GRS leaders to be pragmatic and flexible in their approach, especially in situations that require political compromise.
Armizan’s statement comes amid ongoing discussions about the future direction of political alliances in Sabah. The minister’s remarks reflect a broader sentiment that political stability is crucial for the continued development and progress of the state. By embracing a collaborative approach, GRS can strengthen its position and better serve the people of Sabah, as stated in Astro Awani.
