By Subaashinee Kupusamy,

28th October: Harsha Ravindran, a 22-year-old youth entrepreneur and Malaysian changemaker, is making waves in the global entrepreneurship scene, inspiring young leaders worldwide. As the executive director of the NextGen Entrepreneurship Network (NGEN), she recently brought together over 120 top student entrepreneurs from prestigious institutions like Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and NYU for the Trailblazers Conference held on October 11 in New York City.

The NGEN-hosted conference offered a unique platform for young entrepreneurs to share ideas, network, and learn from industry leaders. “This is a place for people to exchange ideas and learn from one another, and that was definitely something we observed during this conference,” Harsha remarked. She highlighted how the quality of participants amplified the impact of discussions, fostering connections that would shape each other’s careers.

A student at the University of Pennsylvania, Harsha also co-founded the global youth organization Ascendance, which aims to support and empower young changemakers. In 2019, she was awarded the prestigious Diana Award in recognition of her humanitarian work with Ascendance.

Trailblazers Conference attendees had the chance to attend workshops, keynote sessions, and panels with top executives. One notable speaker, Seema Hingorani, managing director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and founder of Girls Who Invest, shared her journey of following her heart and encouraging the young audience to pursue their dreams. “Push yourselves, explore, learn how to think, learn how to write, and have fun,” Hingorani advised.

For attendees like Aryaditya Lankipalle from the University of Pennsylvania, the conference was an invaluable experience. “Being an aspiring entrepreneur can feel isolating, so connecting with students from various universities and perspectives was my favorite part,” he shared.

Harsha, along with co-founders Jackson Lehner and William Borges, continues to foster a vibrant community for emerging entrepreneurs, setting a high standard for the future of youth-driven innovation as stated in The Star.
