7th September 2024 – Vinayagar Chaturthi, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is a popular Hindu festival that honors Lord Ganesha, the god of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. This festival marks the birth of Ganesha and is celebrated with great enthusiasm, especially in India.


People believe that Lord Ganesha removes obstacles and brings success in life. During Vinayagar Chaturthi, devotees bring clay idols of Ganesha into their homes or public spaces and offer prayers, sweets, and flowers. The festival usually lasts for ten days, ending with the immersion of the idols in rivers or seas, symbolizing Ganesha’s return to his heavenly abode.


Vinayagar Chaturthi is celebrated to seek blessings for a new beginning and to promote unity, peace, and prosperity. It is a joyful occasion where families and communities come together to honor Lord Ganesha.
