High-Pressure Jetter Deployed in Ongoing Search for Sinkhole Victim

By Subaashinee Kupusamy,

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 August: Authorities in Kuala Lumpur are using a high-pressure jetter machine to aid in the search for a woman who fell into a sinkhole in front of Wisma Yakin on Jalan Masjid India last Friday.

The jetter machine, operating at 3,000 PSI, is being used to break through rock debris that was identified near the sinkhole’s edge, about four meters from where the woman was last seen. The debris is thought to have contributed to the sinkhole’s formation, complicating the rescue efforts.

The search and rescue (SAR) team has employed cameras to identify and locate the debris, which is now the focus of removal operations. Dang Wangi district police chief Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman confirmed that clearing the debris is a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to find the victim. Rescue teams continue to work tirelessly to navigate the challenging conditions in hopes of a successful recovery as stated in Malaysia Kini.
