How Much is Allocated for The Improvement of Tamil Schools from Budget 2023? – Datuk Sri Dr. M. Saravanan

KUALA LUMPUR, JUNE 9: Datuk Sri Dr. M. Saravanan, a member of parliament from Tapah and the National Vice President of the M.I.C., posed questions regarding the budget allocated for 2023 for the improvement of Tamil schools and if the Ministry of Education have any special money designated to support Tamil education.
The budget for this year has 900 million dollars set out for renovating government and government-aided schools. The Ministry of Education will treat all schools equally. Funds will be distributed based on the applications thankfully, the Ministry of Education provided a short response that was irrelevant.
Everyone was aware of the 900 million for school renovations at the time of the budget announcement. Tamil Lens, one of the local press has questioned if the Ministry of Education on the amount of Tamil schools being reorganised and the content of the new Tamil-based curriculum.
It is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education to make clear the actions it has done to advance secondary and tertiary Tamil language education. However, there has been no comment from the Ministry of Education on the matter.
