Indian High Commissioner Visits Sinkhole Incident Site in Kuala Lumpur

30th August 2024 – Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia, B.N. Reddy, visited the site of an ongoing search and rescue (SAR) operation in Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur, where an Indian national was swallowed by a sinkhole on August 23.
Accompanied by an embassy official, Reddy was briefed by local authorities on the search efforts, which have yet to yield results despite extensive searches. The incident, involving 48-year-old Vijayalaksmi, has prompted continuous efforts, including ground-penetrating radar scans and exploration of underground sewer lines. Rescuers remain committed to locating the missing individual, as stated in The Star.
