Interstate travel: Increase in traffic flow at LPT2

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16: Traffic volume registered an increase at the East Coast Two Highway Authority (LPT2) by more than 65 percent, or 24,000 cars today.

According to LPT2 Regional Business Manager Suhaimi Samat, the number of cars is likely to rise further, especially as more Klang Valley people take advantage of the weekend vacation, which extends the Maulidur Rasul public holiday next Tuesday.

“Today’s traffic flow, on the other hand, remained smooth, with no reports of traffic congestion. We also opened all entries and exits at the LPT2 toll plaza,” he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.

According to Suhaimi, the rise in the number of cars is likely to continue until Tuesday.

He urged highway users to continue to follow the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) when utilising the facilities offered, such as constantly wearing face masks, scanning MySejahtera codes, checking body temperature, and maintaining distance, particularly when queuing for meals.
