‘It’s getting worse’, plight of flood-hit families continues

By Sharunya Raja

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23: Rain is a blessing to many people for different reasons.

However, for residents in flood-prone areas, like Taman Ros Merah in Nilai, it is a burden they have to contend with every year.

Flooding caused by downpours has destroyed many properties in the neighbourhood.

Veemal Raj Pillay, in a Facebook post, expressed his disappointment over the flood situation in Taman Ros Merah Nilai.

“Mr Arul Kumar Jambunathan (Nilai assemblyman), we have been raising this issue for many year to you.

“You are not bothering. Day by day it is getting worst, and the water level are rising, especially when (it) rains.

“Let us be honest, you are doing a lot of unnecessary things, but you can’t you help us at Taman Ros Merah or Pekan Nilai.

“There are lots of elderly people are there.

“It’s not first time we are reporting to you. It has been multiple time. Don’t you see seriousness of this issue. It’s getting worst.

“As per your advice we have reported to Majlis Perbandaran Seremban and Nilai multiples time these few years,” he added.
