JAKIM’s Consistent Actions Against GISBH

14 SEPTEMBER: The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) has maintained a consistent approach in addressing issues related to Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holding Sdn. Bhd. (GISBH). JAKIM’s actions include dialogues, programs, and research concerning GISBH, with a firm stance on matters affecting Islamic faith.

Datuk Hakimah Mohd. Yusoff, JAKIM’s Director-General, stated that JAKIM’s authority to act against GISBH aligns with the regulations of the National Council for Islamic Affairs Malaysia (MKI). JAKIM, as the MKI secretariat, advises the Rulers’ Council on Islamic law, administration, and education, aiming for uniform legal standards for national interest.

Since February 2019, JAKIM has conducted twelve meetings, workshops, and national programs involving security agencies like the National Security Council (MKN), Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), and Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN). These efforts include a closed-door meeting with GISBH in September 2019 and continued discussions in July 2022 and August 2024.

In response to allegations of doctrinal deviations by GISBH, ongoing evaluations and dialogues are scheduled, demonstrating JAKIM’s commitment to addressing the issue thoroughly as stated in BULETIN TV3.
