JB Police Stop Illegal Street Racers Using Buses

2nd September 2024 – In Johor Baru, police employed an unconventional tactic to stop Mat Rempit street racers by using two buses to create a roadblock.
The dramatic operation, captured on video, occurred at a traffic light on Jalan Skudai near Danga Bay, where plainclothes officers on motorcycles intercepted the racers.
The operation, conducted on August 26 and 27, involved multiple agencies and resulted in 115 motorcycles being seized, 153 summonses issued, and one arrest for drug use. Police justified the method as necessary for public safety, as stated in The Star.
