Kabaddi, Silambam – Allowed in SUKMA
Putrajaya, 12 June – Exco Coordination meeting at Menara KBS gave cheering outcome for Kabaddi and Silambam sports. Both sports are allowed in Sukma 2024, hosted by Sarawak. Minister of Youth&Sports, Hannah Yeoh said the sports need its development as their national level championship has been organized along the year.
For the sports to participate, teams from six (6) states are needed at its minimum, the minister added. Along with the both sports, also being in the list are biennial games, softball, cricket, chess and Sarawak has boxing, Muay Thai, Pétanque and e-sports. Sukma 2024 will also see 28 sports as edition. Selection criteria for 21st Sukma edition has also been listed by National Sports Council Director, Datuk Ahmad Shapani Ismail.
