KUALA LUMPUR 18TH AUGUST : According to Suhakam children’s commissioner Farah Nini Dusuki, negligent parents and guardians ought to be held responsible for the deaths of their kids engaged in motorbike accidents as stated in Free Malaysia Today.
Farah was remarking on recent kid fatalities which included a young child murdered in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, after a 12-year-old was involved in a three-wheel motorcycle accident, and two 13-year-olds slain in Bandar Elmina, Shah Alam, while performing wheelie antics as stated in Free Malaysia Today.
These kids’ deaths weren’t just random incidents or acts of fate. She added in a statement today that they may have been avoided if their parents or guardians had been cautious and kept an eye on them. Farah remarked that the increasing number of road fatalities and injuries among young motorcyclists in 2023 demonstrated the need for better oversight of kids’ activities. When you make a decision to have a children you’re also making the decision to take the responsibility of the child. It is the responsibility of every parent to ensure their children are prepared for the adult world, and that they throw open the doors at 18 and walk into their lives with confidence and enthusiasm.
In addition to a roof over their heads, parents can give their kids food, clothes, health care, and an education. However, parents must exercise extreme caution when showing physical affection in public or around minors because it’s critical for parents to be able to set healthy boundaries, which can easily become hazy if the child is in the care of someone who is having a sexual relationship with them.
In actuality, “what is done” has an impact on “what is to become” for our kids. And the fact that we are here to assist them in realizing their potential as individuals is another crucial component of our role as parents. Our decisions as parents have the power to either fully realize that potential or entirely squash it.
It is hoped that by instilling in them a sense of responsibility, we will make them less inclined to commit crimes and engage in bad behavior down the road. Therefore, impart responsibility to them and assist them in making it a reality.
