Kelantan Man Receives 72-Year Prison Term for Assaulting Daughter

13th September 2024 – A 46-year-old labourer in Kelantan has been sentenced to 72 years in prison and 60 strokes of the cane for raping his 15-year-old daughter, who later gave birth to their child.
The court heard that the crimes occurred over several months in 2023 at their home in Manek Urai, Kuala Krai. The man pleaded guilty to six charges of rape, receiving 12 years imprisonment and 10 cane strokes per charge, to be served consecutively.
He is also required to undergo rehabilitation and counselling during his imprisonment, as stated in Malaymail.
