Khairy Jamaluddin Named Popular Radio Announcer at ABPBH 36

13 OCTOBER: Khairy Jamaluddin, former Health Minister turned radio personality, took home the Popular Radio Announcer award at the 36th Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH).
His remarkable win was announced at the prestigious ceremony, which aired live on TV3 and Tonton, and was hosted by Didie Alias, Haniff Hamzah, and Riena Diana.Making his radio debut on Hot FM in February last year, Khairy, popularly known as KJ, quickly became a fan favorite. His infectious energy and dynamic presence on the station’s “Bekpes Hot” morning show earned him a massive following, and he received an overwhelming amount of support in the lead-up to the awards.
The success of campaigns like #KJJadiDJ and #MenangSelfieMenangUndi further propelled him to victory, helping him surpass seasoned radio hosts such as Tyzo, Haiza, DJ Sonic, and Sharifah Shahirah.KJ’s triumph was also fueled by the backing of his Bekpes Hot co-hosts Johan, Fara Fauzana, and AG, along with support from other Media Prima Audio (MPA) stations like Kool 101. His ability to quickly connect with audiences cemented his popularity, making his win a highly anticipated moment of the night.
The ABPBH 36 event was attended by prominent figures, including Media Prima group chairman Datuk Seri Dr Syed Hussian Aljunid and Media Prima Television Networks CEO Nini Yusof, among others. The annual event celebrates the most popular talents in Malaysian entertainment, with fans determining the winners through a public voting process as stated in NST.
