Let the Ministry of Education Breathe

25th September 2024: The Ministry of Education (KPM) is currently undergoing multiple changes and reforms aimed at improving the national education system. However, these efforts require time and understanding from all stakeholders.
Many are quick to criticize, especially when the desired outcomes aren’t immediately visible. The pressure is immense, but it’s crucial to realize that transforming an entire education system is a gradual process. A number of policies, while well-intentioned, have received backlash because their benefits aren’t instantly apparent.
Criticism often stems from a failure to see the bigger picture. Short-term results may not reflect the long-term positive impacts that KPM’s initiatives could bring. Education is a complex ecosystem, and expecting instant changes is unreasonable. It’s essential to recognize the dedication of the ministry’s leadership, particularly under the guidance of Fadhlina Sidek, in pushing forward these reforms. Her efforts reflect a genuine commitment to elevating the country’s education standards.
The public must also play a role in supporting these changes by giving space for the reforms to take root. Constant negative feedback only hampers progress, and there needs to be a shift towards constructive criticism. Let KPM breathe and trust the process of change.
