Liek Hou Aims for Malaysia’s First Paralympic Badminton Gold

2nd September 2024 – Cheah Liek Hou, Malaysia’s top para-badminton player, is poised to secure the nation’s first gold in men’s singles SU5 at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
He reached the final by defeating Indonesia’s Dheva Anrimusthi 21-17, 21-17. Liek Hou will face Indonesia’s Suryo Nugroho in the final, holding a favorable record against him.
Meanwhile, Malaysian sprinter Eddy Bernard won a bronze in the men’s 100m T44 event, breaking the Asian record. Despite Noor Askuzaimey Mat Salim’s defeat in boccia, Liek Hou’s pursuit of gold remains a significant focus, as stated in Malaymail.
