Limited Free Higher Education Courses in Sarawak, Says State Minister
By Loshinniy Nair S. Baskaran,
29th August 2024 – Sarawak’s state minister clarified that not all higher education courses in the state will be offered for free, contrary to some expectations.
While the government has allocated RM300 million to support higher education, the minister emphasized that only selected courses will benefit from this funding. The focus is on courses aligned with Sarawak’s development needs, particularly in areas like engineering, technology, and healthcare.
The minister encouraged students to choose courses that are both relevant to the state’s economic agenda and have the potential to enhance their future employability, as stated in Free Malaysia Today.
