Lokesh Kanagaraj Clarifies Rajinikanth’s Health Was Not a Factor in Coolie Shoot Concerns

By Pavethran Batmanathen

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj recently addressed the press to clear up rumors surrounding the production of his film Coolie and the health of superstar Rajinikanth.

The legendary actor was recently hospitalized in Chennai for surgery to treat a swollen blood vessel, which had sparked various speculations online. Lokesh took the opportunity to set the record straight.

According to Lokesh, Rajinikanth was undergoing treatment in Chennai while the rest of the Coolie cast continued filming in Vizag. However, some rumors began circulating on social media, falsely claiming that Rajinikanth had fallen ill while on set and had to be hospitalized as a result of discomfort during filming.

Addressing the rumors, Lokesh clarified, “Rajini sir is doing well and recovering. I spoke to him on the phone recently. I want to make one thing very clear: about forty days ago, Rajini sir had informed us that he would be undergoing treatment. So, seeing this false news spreading on social media is really disappointing.

At the end of the day, Rajini sir’s health is far more important than the movie’s shoot. If he had felt any discomfort on set, we would have immediately stopped filming, and the entire team would have been by his side at the hospital.”

Lokesh expressed his dismay over how quickly misinformation spreads, especially through platforms like YouTube, calling it “disheartening” to witness false narratives being pushed without regard for the truth.
